![]() ![]() Hanoi authorities mandated that anyone arriving from countries that have detected the Omicron variant of the virus will have to quarantine regardless of their vaccination status.Vietnam reported its first known case of the Omicron variant from a traveler arriving from the UK on December 19 at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport.Thus from January 1, 2022, travelers that are fully vaccinated and test negative for COVID-19 can self-quarantine at their place of accommodation for three days. ![]() Hanoi authorities scrapped the centralized quarantine rule for travelers coming from countries that have detected the Omicron variant as per the transport ministry.The latest community transmission cases have been reported from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh Long, Tay Ninh, and Binh Phuoc among others. Vietnam has also recorded 32,831 deaths due to the pandemic. However, 1,372,696 of the affected patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
